Here are my 2 cents. The current administration is increasing TSM based on the minimum wage increase approved by the government and in effect since January of this year. Now, I wouldn't make a big deal out of this if we were sure economic resources are really lacking and everybody was paying this charge--and I mean everybody not just a few. The truth is that the current administration has failed to accurately report how are these limited resources being used and thus increases the reluctance of the people that are paying every month.
Altos del Maria's upkeep is increasing to $55+tax and Altos de Cerro Azul to $46+tax. According to some inside information I have, budget for this year granted to Cerro Azul is about $12K and I don't know to what extent this is covered by the upkeep we pay each month. This budget is supposed to cover all expenses and thus reflects the recent layoff of people, the awful club status, lack of road and drainage maintenance, etc.
Grupo Melo's main focus is currently Altos del Maria and Valle Bonito--a new development that they are promoting. Altos de Cerro Azul isn't a concern for them at the moment and will never be as their interests here have been depleted due to selling almost 100% of the project.
Could we organize ourselves to collect information on the amount of people that are really paying the upkeep? I think this is a most if we want to touch ground on our community economic status and determine if a new board will be able to make a better job at managing this. I want to know how the money we put into upkeep is being reinvested in our community, but as said by someone earlier in this forum, I don't want to own a house at some Altos de Pacora type residential.
