Last night, one of our new neighbors family was driving from the airport to Cerro Azul. They were on the paved road many of us refer to as the “short cut” which runs from el campeón , past the garbage area on the side of the road, over the one lane bridge, through the S curves and then proceeds straight with several resaltos to the principal road up the mountain. When on the straight section of road, a car passed them, stopped and two armed men jumped out and pointed pistols at them. The driver navigated around the Ladrones and sped away. The Ladrones chased them for a bit before turning into the newly paved road just before the first principal curve up the mountain.

No one was hurt but they will always remember NEVER USE THE SIDE ROADS AT NIGHT! This is the second incident I am personally aware of. Don’t take chances and always be aware of your surroundings.
